INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS FOR THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

Abstract

The present article will discuss the international standards of personal data protection, its importance and its legal bases. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other internationally agreed standards for ensuring the privacy and security of personal information are discussed. Special emphasis is placed on the need to harmonize these standards with the national legislation and effective implementation in practice.
