CORPUS-BASED ANALYSIS OF THE LEXICALSEMANTIC FIELD OF JUSTICE IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK
Abstract
Justice represents a fundamental moral, legal, and sociocultural concept that plays an essential role in the linguistic conceptualization of human rights, fairness, equality, responsibility, and social relationships. Although English justice and Uzbek adolat share common semantic characteristics, their lexical associations, collocational patterns, and contextual interpretations may differ due to linguistic and cultural factors. The present study aims to investigate the lexical-semantic field of JUSTICE/ADOLAT in English and Uzbek from a corpus-linguistic perspective, identify its central and peripheral semantic components, and develop a comparative framework for examining collocations, semantic preferences, and discourse functions.
