METAPHORICAL UNITS AS CARRIERS OF LINGUOCULTURAL INFORMATION IN RUSSIAN LITERARY DISCOURSE
Keywords:

This article examines the linguocultural potential of metaphorical units in Russian literary discourse. Metaphor is analysed both as a linguistic mechanism for conceptualising reality and as a carrier of culturally determined information. Particular attention is paid to the interaction of the imagery, emotional-evaluative, and national-cultural components of metaphorical meaning. Drawing on examples from Russian fiction, the article demonstrates that metaphorical units contribute to the formation of the linguistic worldview, the representation of national values, and the expression of authorial attitudes towards reality. The article argues that the linguocultural specificity of metaphors must be taken into account when interpreting and translating them.
