ADVANCED SYNTHESIS STRATEGIES FOR HIGHPERFORMANCE ZINC-ION BATTERY
Keywords:

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries are attractive for grid storage because they are safe, cheap and built from abundant materials. Their progress depends mostly on the cathode, which must host zinc ions reversibly in a water-based electrolyte. This article reviews how synthesis choices shape the structure and performance of manganese, vanadium and Prussian blue cathodes, with special attention to co-precipitation. We describe the method step by step, compare it with other routes, and point out what still limits practical use. Controlled reaction conditions, defect management and conductive coatings are the most reliable ways to improve capacity and cycle life.
