METHODOLOGY FOR IMPLEMENTING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-ASSISTED FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT IN BIOLOGY EDUCATION

This article examines the methodology of organizing formative assessment in biology education through the use of artificial intelligence technologies. The study analyzes the pedagogical foundations, principles, and opportunities of AI-assisted formative assessment and highlights its role in improving students’ conceptual understanding, scientific reasoning, and learning outcomes. Particular attention is given to the application of artificial intelligence for generating assessment tasks, providing immediate feedback, monitoring student progress, and supporting personalized learning. The article also discusses the advantages, challenges, and methodological requirements of implementing AI-based formative assessment in biology classrooms. The findings indicate that artificial intelligence can enhance the effectiveness of formative assessment, facilitate individualized learning, and contribute to the development of students’ scientific competencies when integrated appropriately into the educational process.
